Caitlyn will be 3 on Monday, gosh time flies!! We're having it at Monkey Joe's. She's never been there but she loves stuff like that, so I'm really excited. It's supposed to rain Sunday evening; maybe it'll hold out until we're done and home. This past weekend was so beautiful; Caitlyn and I went to Atlanta to have her birthday party with her cousins. We went to the park and played; it was sooooo beautiful. Sun was out with a breeze to keep the sweat off (I did sweat just a little, ha). But it was so nice!! Then they were calling for snow flurries on Sunday night. I's like WHAT THE HECK?!!? Anywayz, had a wonderful weekend! Shawn didn't get to go because he was in the last fishing tournament for the fishing year in the category he's in. He found out that he still holds record for BIG FISH. So they're going to present him his award on Saturday night for biggest fish of the year. It was 7 lbs. I believe. He caught it back in October I think. Don't worry, I'll post his trophy. So proud of him.
Caitlyn has her first dentist appt next Thursday. Kinda worried about that. But I asked the dentist what they do, cause you know a 3 yr old is NOT gonna let anyone put their hands in her mouth, lol. They said they play with them and just get to know them, show them the utensils, and what they do with them, and just let them get familiar with everything, which I think is great!! So hopefully it won't be too bad. Maybe they'll get lucky and she'll let them look around in her mouth. We'll see : )
I'm thinking about putting the pool up this weekend. Yeah I know...it's still too cold. But really, we have a pool cover and I swear last year that thing felt like a mild hot tub after coming home from work with the pool covered all day. Then to uncover it and it would be warm. What's the harm? If it doesn't work this early, we'll let it sit until its warm enough. Go run around the neighborhood on a warm Saturday, work up a sweat, and come back to a cold pool. That's the BEST!!!!

Random Thoughts
So mom sent me pictures of her area and I've seen some of the damage from the flooding. That is crazy stuff!! I can't imagine. I'd be freakin out if it were ankle deep outside my house. I'd be evacuating quick! Haulin butt outta there, lol. I's worried about mom cause she was at home alone last night and Atlanta was expecting more rain and the picture of her yard looked awful. But I spoke to her today and she's still alive, so I guess everything is fine.
This Saturday, RPM has an event in Atlanta down by the stadium in downtown. Pretty excited about that. We get the stage for almost an hour. Gonna be fun! Anyone who loves to worship and will be around at 4pm, you should drop by Adamsville Recreation Center, 3201 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Doors open at 3:30pm.
My hubby is cooking pot roast tonight with potatoes, fried green beans, and cornbread. Mmmm....my tastebuds are so ready. 45 more minutes before I can leave work.
Chris and Nikki got their house. They are closing on October 12th. Its a really nice house, even though its further away from us. But we can take a certian highway straight to their house instead of going through all these backroads like we have to now. I told them we'd be over there every weekend to stay so I can use her jacuzzi tub...ahhh, I can't wait to get one of those. We're thinking about doing a major remodel of our master bath and walk-in closet come tax return time. The remodel includes adding a jacuzzi tub, YAY!!! I think I'll be in heaven then, LOL
Have I mentioned that I'm ready to go home?? Well.....I'M READY TO GO HOME!!!!!!!

My Sweet Hubby
So usually Shawn cooks a great dinner for me when I come home from work; I've always told him he missed his calling. He should have been a chef. He cooks so good and he can create beautiful, delicious dinners out of nothing. I would walk in the kitchen and be like, there's nothing to eat in this house. And he'll just throw something out and its always the BOMB!!
So last night I walked in and he had cleaned the house, which is normal, and had candles lit everywhere and a beautiful gourmet looking meal sitting on the table. It was great!! I have a picture below to show some of "his work," lol. It was as delicious as it looked. Mmm...I could go for some more right about now.

The Cause
We have finally found out what it is that Shawn has that's been causing him so much trouble with his eyes. Its called Recurrent Corneal Erosion. He's been in a lot of pain lately and we've taken several trips to the doctor, done this, that, and the other; and they've finally diagnosed him with this erosion thing. This explains why his eyes have always watered a lot, however wikipedia explains why he still has this erosion which is caused by dry eyes.
Wikipedia says, "With the eye generally profusely watering, the type of tears being produced have little adhesive property. Water or saline eye drops tend therefore to be ineffective. Rather a 'better quality' of tear is required with higher 'wetting ability' (ie greater amount of glycoproteins) and so artificial tears (eg viscotears) are applied frequently.Whilst individual episodes may settle within a few hours or days, additional episodes (as the name suggests) will recur at intervals."
Wikipedia offers suggestions that are used and affective for this condition, some of which we are currently trying. But there are two that I thought rather funny. They are as follows:

- maintaining general hydration levels with adequate fluid intake and reducing evening alcohol consumption (so preventing "Drinker's Eye").[2]
- not sleeping-in late as the corneal tends to dry out the longer the eyelids are closed.

Doctor Visit
Shawn's down in Atlanta today at the doctor. He actually has two appointments today. He went this morning to have some tests done on his thyroid. Then he's got an appointment in a bit for his eyes. I'm glad he's getting all fixed up. He's needed this for a while. Health insurance: what a beautiful thing. Poor things been miserable with his eyes here lately, so I hope they come up with a solution that doesn't require any surgeries. He's going on Thursday for the actual eye exam and to get prescription eye glasses, but some idiots in college happened to strike him a couple times in the eye, one with a pencil and the other with a staple. Both in different eyes. They've never really bothered him very bad, but recently in the last two weeks, he's been up almost every night with his eyes severely hurting, so they worked him in today while he's in Atlanta. So I hope its nothing very serious...maybe something they can easily fix.
